Natural health has been gaining popularity over the last several years. Increasingly the science of how it works is being studied and more understanding is being developed. Although most people think of modern medicine (allopathic medicine) as “traditional medicine”, essential oils and herbs have been used medicinally for thousands of years making natural medicine the true traditional medicine. In fact, the earliest documented form of medicine is essential oils. Cave drawings and biblical reference of essential oils can be found all over the world within each culture.
The COVID pandemic is where my interest in natural medicine began taking off. As a med tech having taken classes in immunology, I watched my fellow med techs file in for their “vaccines” stating that natural immunity wasn’t possible. However, we all sat in classes at some point in our lives and reviewed the entire process of immunity. How is it that natural immunity can’t happen? I didn’t believe it. A mere month before the vaccine became available, my family came down with COVID. It was a rough few weeks, but we made it through and decided since we had natural immunity we would keep it up. Taking opportunities to keep the immune system working we hit every outside crowd event we could and didn’t get it again for almost a year. Since then, we’ve had it 4 more times with each time being less intense and shorter than the last.
So I have begun school and the journey into natural and holistic health. As a med tech, the how and why is very important to me and I look very carefully at the science of it. Hence my view of natural medicine is developed as I analyze each method for the reasoning and sciences behind it. I’ve always been interested in the how and why so this is no different.
